What is Tear Trough Deformity
Tear Trough Deformity is a problem that can afflict people in their 20’s and mature adults in their 80’s and older.  With age the trough becomes deeper, the circles darker, and tears run down the trough and out toward the side of the cheeks instead of straight down the cheek as when the person was younger.  Also the upper and lower eyelids lose elasticity and start to sag while fat accumulates under the lower eyelids, making the shadow appear worse and the Tear Trough deeper.

Commonly, people complain of a Tired Look – Eyelid Bags - Puffy Eyes – and Eye Bags. Until now surgery used to be the only method for correcting Tear Trough Deformity and Eyelid problems but today Dr. Tsirbas uses advanced techniques and Injection treatments – in combination with surgery when it’s required – to rejuvenate this area of the face and to restore a more youthful, natural looking appearance.

- A Good Candidate

A good candidate is anyone who suffers from Tear Trough Deformity and desires effective correction from it. You should be in otherwise good health and able to have realistic expectations.  During your initial consultation, Dr. Tsirbas will thoroughly assess your condition and concerns and personalize a treatment plan to specifically meet your needs.

Dr. Tsirbas will listen carefully and sensitively before developing your personalized surgery/treatment plan.
- Tear Trough Deformity Procedures

Dr. Tsirbas will tailor your treatment to your specific needs since procedures vary from patient to patient. Surgery is not required by every patient with this problem – many times it is correctable using one of today’s amazing Injectables.  This will be determined during your personal consultation with Dr. Tsirbas. If surgery is required to eliminate lower eyelid bags (Blepharoplasty) in addition to injection of the Tear Trough, the treatment can be done under one anaesthetic. If you are not a good candidate for Injectable treatment of the Tear Trough Deformity, Dr. Tsirbas will discuss the correct surgical procedure with you.
